I just ordered 6 of the Leatherman Super Tool 300's as groomsmen gifts and I was looking for the black versions of it.Well, the title of this item clearly says LEATHERMAN 831180 MULTI-TOOL, SUPER TOOL 300, BLACK.Without any other information given, one would expect it to be the black version, right?WRONG.I assume the title got truncated and the rest of it was going to say BLACK NYLON SHEATH or something.Either way, it's a good tool and I'll be pleased with it (and I'm sure my groomsmen will too)...other than the fact that it's silver, not black.

Leatherman Crater c33Tx Combo Straight/Serrated Blade Knife Review

Leatherman Crater c33Tx Combo Straight/Serrated Blade Knife
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is by far the favored knife of my collection. It's the one I carry while camping, hiking or just need to cut something at home. My favorite feature is its blade opening system. It took me a few minutes to figure out, but once I did, I've determined that it's the easiest opening knife I've ever owned. There have been plenty of times when I've only had one hand available and have had no problems opening and using it.

The carbineer also works as a bottle opener. Like mentioned in another review, closing it is not very self intuitive, but I felt a little silly once I figured it out and realized how easy it is; all you have to do is press it down, then fold it in. The bottle opener works well, but you have to place it over the top, snap the cap then press down. This is opposite from most bottle openers, but, again, it's easy once you do it a couple times.

My only beef with this knife is it's thickness. When wearing baggier shorts, I can't tell that it's there, however, when in jeans, it's noticeable. That being said, it's a lot easier to carry than my Gerber or SOG multi-tools.

So, in summary, buy this knife. At $28 (at the time of this review), you will not regret it.

Sometimes, you don't need a toothpick, a pair of tin snips, or toenail scissor--you just need a strong, sharp, reliable cutting blade. The Crater c33Tx is a streamlined, folding knife with a sturdy, locking blade. Also offering Phillips and flathead screwdrivers, this knife is a true multi-tool. Its durable, 60-percent glass-filled nylon handle is shaped and balanced to sit comfortably in your hand. And weighing in at just 3.19 ounces, the c33Tx will rest snugly in your pocket or pack.
The in-handle storage system means you won't have to carry a sheath, and the knife's folding carabiner clip makes it easy to attach your knife to a belt loop or the side of your pack, so it's always on hand when you need it. Mariners who keep their tools on lines will have a special appreciation for this clip. And it does double-duty as a bottle-opener. You can also opt to secure your knife with the included removable pocket clip. In short, this knife was designed to meet the practical needs of active outdoorsmen, and it delivers.
Premium, US-Made Steel for Performance
A sharp knife is not only more useful than a dull knife, it's also safer and easier to control. A blade with a durable precision edge lets you make the cuts you want safely and quickly.
Crater Series knives are crafted out of US-made 420HC steel from Crucible Metals. This steel was selected by Leatherman because it provides excellent edge retention, which means your knife stays sharp longer. Plus 420HC is tough, not brittle, and it is corrosion resistant.
Crater Series knives are finished with a hollow grind, the same "premium" grind found on straight razors and some high-end kitchen cutlery. This grind technique creates a natural release when cutting, so materials don't stick to the knife, giving you a better cutting edge. The knife's full 2.6-inch blade provides plenty of versatility for cooking up backcountry meals, cutting rope to build the perfect bear hang, or even breaking down boxes to toss in the recycling.
Locking, Drop-Style Blade for Safety
A liner lock lets you secure the blade of your c33Tx in the open position, so you don't have to worry about it closing on your hand while you cut. This safety feature is especially important when slicing through tough materials like braided nylon rope. Having a liner lock instead of a traditional lockback system makes the c33Tx easier to open with one hand. It also ensures that it's easy to unlock the blade and close the knife.
Leatherman's registered Blade Launcher technology makes opening this Crater Series knife even easier. With the Blade Launcher, you simply engage a conveniently placed mechanism to open your knife. A standard thumb stud contributes to the simplicity of one-handed operation, too.
Leatherman uses blades shaped in a drop-style for all their c33 knives because they fit nicely in the handle of your knife when not in use. Plus, a drop-style blade is stronger than a clip point blade, which you might see on other pocket knives.
When it is time to sharpen your knife, you'll appreciate that Leatherman knives can be re-sharpened using standard methods. There are many ways to maintain a sharp blade, so you should be able to find one that works well for you. Sharpening stones, round files, and special kits (not included) can help ensure long-lasting performance.
About Leatherman: Time-Tested Survival Tools
The original Pocket Survival Tool, devised by mechanical engineer Tim Leatherman, hit the market in 1983. By 1993, Leatherman was selling more than one million tools a year. In the blockbuster movie "Speed," Keanu Reeves used a Leatherman to save the passengers on a doomed bus. Even MacGyver has been seen with one of these trusty tools. But their best reviews come from everyday people. The Leatherman survival tool is a mainstay of travelers, sailors, fishermen, hunters, backpackers, and scouts.
The simple, lightweight Crater Series knives draw on Leatherman's legacy. While the c33Tx knife doesn't feature the signature Leatherman pliers design, it is available in several multi-tool variations. If you enjoy the ease of sharpening a traditional straight blade knife, the c33T might be the perfect knife for you. Similarly, Leatherman offers the c33 for those who prefer a knife without a blade launcher, and the c33B, a multi-knife with an integrated bit driver.
All Leatherman tools, including the c33Tx Combo Straight/Serrated Blade Knife, are backed by a 25-year warranty.

Skeletool CX, Black Carbon Fiber Scale, Nylon Sheath

I just wanted to point out that the reason why this has a different listing than the other model is because the 2008 model has a combo straight/serrated edge blade (which i love). The newer model was switched to just a straight edge blade. its basically just your preference.. but i suggest you get the combo, only because they stopped making them. so they are going to be hard to find.

Leatherman 831198 Squirt ES4 Red Keychain Tool with Scissor Review

Leatherman 831198 Squirt ES4 Red Keychain Tool with Scissor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I own numerous Leatherman multitools including the Mini, Pulse, PST, Juice S2, Juice SC2, Wave, Skeletool, Skeletool CX, Micra, Squirt P4, and Squirt S4.I also own numerous Victorinox Swiss Army Knives and multitools.I truly respect and admire the stellar designs utilized by both companies.Having used and owned all these different tools, I feel that the Leatherman Squirt ES4 and PS4 are now unparalleled as the best keychain size multi tools fit for everyday carry (EDC).

PROS
1. Small size, smaller than the Micra, although thicker
2. Lightweight, lighter than the Micra
3. Pliers, which Victorinox does not offer in any of their 58 mm size Swiss Army Knives (SAK)
4. In the ES4 model there are wire strippers (20, 18, 16, 14, 12 gauges)
5. Scissors
6. Flat screwdriver, medium size
7. Flat Philips driver
8. File, with fine and coarse sides
9. Knife, with clip point blade
10. Keyring
11. Bottle opener
12. All tools are accessible with the pliers closed
13. Aesthetically pleasing design with compact body. Please note that the "red" model is actually a darker, maroon color and quite different from what I expected from Amazon's product photo

CONS
1. Colored handles, which I do not expect to hold up well on a keychain. The Micra has the best design in this instance with its steel handles
2. No toothpick, which is not important to me, but I always hear how people seem to want this in a SAK
3. No tweezers, which I do miss a little as they can be useful for removing splinters
4. No small flat screwdriver, which was on the Micra
5. Scissors are much smaller than the Squirt S4 but on par with the Victorinox 58 mm SAKs

CONCLUSION
The Leatherman Squirt PS4 and ES4 offer an amazing set of tools which include pliers and scissors in the same model, unlike the older S4 (scissors) or P4 (pliers) models or the Micra in which the presence of one excluded the other. If Leatherman ever makes the ES4 or PS4 with plain steel or aluminum handles, I feel that they would be close to perfect.

Leatherman 830045 Removable Bit Driver for Blast/Fuse/Kick
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Leatherman's quality seems to be declining. The tool set is made in Taiwan, not the US.Mine arrived without the magnetic retainer ring that is supposed to hold the bits in place. Also, one of the bits was not machined. It was a billet of metal!I contacted Leatherman and they will send me a new driver, and hopefully a new bit too.The kicker is that they want *me* to mail *their* defective unit back at *my* expense.

Now, I own an original Leatherman tool, a SuperTool, a Micra, Two Squirts ("E" and "P"), and a Kick.I love them all.My last two purchases of Leatherman products have been this kit and an h500 Leatherman 830330 h500 Folding Straight-Edge Knife with Nylon Sheathknife.I've now had issues with both.I hope this isn't the trend of quality for this company.

I am in the Army and currently serving in Iraq.Being here I have received several different models of multi-tools by manufacturers such as SOG, Leatherman, Kershaw, and Gerber. This particular Gerber is by far my favorite and the only one that I brought from home.It contains the tools that I need most, and is at a size that I find comfortable to wear on my belt and it's being there does not interfere with the fit of my body armor or other equipment.I'm amazed at how often the scissors come in handy too.I thought that a goofy thing to have until I got this tool, and now I cannot imagine not having them handy. The pliers are just the right size for most jobs, and the cutters are just fine for cutting the bands off of equipment when needed. For my money Gerber has a winner here and if I ever lose this one I will replace it with the same model.

Leatherman 831265 Wave Multitool and Monarch 400 Flashlight Combo Review

Leatherman 831265 Wave Multitool and Monarch 400 Flashlight Combo
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Yes, like all Leatherman tools, this multitool is very sturdy. But the Wave was designed with a curved shell, so that when you are using it *supposedly* your hand is protected from sharp edges of the casing. Only trouble is, the way the case is designed, that works when you are using the pliers (which requires an inversion of mechanism) but not when you are using the blades. I was working away, cutting some plastic, and suddenly noticed blood on the palm of my hand. It turns out the non-curved edges of the casing are really quite sharp. Yes, if I had realized this, I would have used gloves, but the use of gloves in turn reduces control for fine cutting. Interesting design flaw from a company that prides itself on good engineering....

(This review is for the multitool, not the flashlight.)

Product Description:

The Wave multitool's compact folded shape hides a wealth of tools and blades within. The Wave Multitool From Leatherman: Better than Ever

The most popular full-size Leatherman tool is now better than ever. Larger knives, stronger pliers, longer wire cutters and all-locking blades make the new Wave an essential piece of equipment for any job or adventure. The pliers have been redesigned to withstand more than double the previous squeezing load, and the new bronze bushing makes one-handed knife access a smooth operation -- plus, the one-at-a-time blade selection function means that the tool you want is the tool you get. The versatile Wave comes with a durable and attractive leather sheath.

The Wave includes several screw bits for added versatility.
Expand your Wave's capabilities with the optional bit kit or pocket clip (not included). User Features
This Wave model has four exterior blades that can be accessed even while the tool is closed. (Note: the knife blade can only be opened when the tool is closed.) You can open the blades with one hand by placing your thumb in the thumbhole at the base of the blade, and rotating until the knife is fully extended. This securely engages the locking mechanism.

The saw and file both have nail nicks at their tips for easy access. The locking mechanism is marked with a padlock symbol on the tool itself. To unlock the blades, all you have to do is press the locking mechanism toward the handle until the blade slides past the lock.

Accessing the interior features is a snap, too -- just grip the handles and rotate them open. Each interior blade can be opened by using the nail nicks. The scissors extend in the very same way, and they lock into place for secure, safe use. And of course, it's easy to change the tool bits, too. Just remove the bit from the driver and pop a new one into place.

Leatherman Crater c33x Combo Straight/Serrated Blade Knife Review

Leatherman Crater c33x Combo Straight/Serrated Blade Knife
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was looking for an EDC knife that would do the basics very well at a good price. The Crater C33x hits the nail on the head. At a price under $20 you get:

- A very solid 420HC combo blade
- A secure liner lock
- Phosphor bronze bushings
- A folding carabiner & bottle opener
- A pocket clip
- Fiberglass reinforced handle
- A 25 year warranty

It's a lot better than knives costing twice that much! A real steal.

I use it quite often at the office, and wouldn't think twice about using it around the house, while camping or even on the water (a carabiner is essential there).

The moderately sized blade is wide and sturdy, so it can take on big jobs safely and effectively. The partial serrations ensure quick cutting through pretty much anything. It opens smoothly and locks securely.

The handle is comfortable and provides a secure grip. The pocket clip isn't bothersome, but has sone trouble gripping over thick seams on the pocket rim.

The carabiner/bottle opener is a bit tricky to fold until you realize that you have to push it down. I really like it, as it allows you to hang the knife from anywhere (e.g. a lifejacket) and takes no space in the knife thanks to a very smart design (the blade goes through it when it's folded)

The smallish size is a bonus when it comes to using the knife in the city (as most will), looking much less threatening than a full sized folder. Friends and family won't be intimidated by it, and cops shouldn't give you much trouble. It looks like a tool, not a weapon.

And it's a Leatherman. For less than $20.

- Compact - just slightly larger than a roll of life savers
- Three different light intensity levels... too many high-end flashlights are always super bright.. eats through batteries quick and is blinding for something simple like reading a book in a dim room. The low intensity level on the S3 is perfect for most day-to-day purposes and lasts for 30+ hours (I've personally tested this). The mid range is more than enough for close work or signaling.. not sure what anyone would need the brightest setting for (blinding a charging moose??) but it's there if you need it and it certainly provides plenty of lumen bragging rights.
- Water resistant to 3 feet - no concerns about rain or shallow dunkings
- Shock resistant - can survive mild drops
- Excellent build quality. It's truly a pleasure to hold and use.I find myself carrying it even when it's not on.. it gives you that natural satisfaction of owning a very well made gadget.Anyone who's ever happily wasted time playing with the blades of their Leatherman Micra or Victornox Swiss Army knife knows what I'm talking about.

Cons:
- Expensive.Flashlights seem to come in 2 different price ranges.. the S3 is at the lower end of the high range.. but that still makes it 3 to 4 times more pricy than plenty of good lights on the market.
- Special battery. Not a big deal - if you spend this much on a flashlight you should expect to spend a bit more on batteries - but you can't get them at every corner store.Buy extras before heading out on a long trip.
- Heavy.Actually a pro in many ways - the weight feels great in your hand - but if you're planning to use the clip to attach it to the brim of your baseball hat (as pictured on Leatherman's website) you'd better have a mighty stiff hat brim.If you need a hands-free light get a headlamp instead.
- Twitchy light intensity control.. on vs. off is a robust "click" but changing intensity levels takes some practice and feels a bit tweaky. This is my main personal complaint and the only reason I haven't given the flashlight 5 stars.

Gerber 30-000140 Crucial Tool, Green Review

Gerber 30-000140 Crucial Tool, Green
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Gerber Crucial was released some months after the Leatherman Skeletool (link: Leatherman Skeletool CX Carbon Fiber Handle Multitool and Knife 830950), and it fills the same niche: Compact Multi-Tool without Extras.
The Gerber Crucial has:
* Drop-point knife blade with partial serration
* Pliers with wire-cutters
* Flat-head screwdriver
* Phillips-head screwdriver
* Carabiner clip with bottle-opener function

When you compare it to the Skeletool CX, they have the same features but the important difference is ergonomics. Not only are the pliers handles shaped to your hand, they won't dig into your hand like the Skeletool handle does.

Pros:
* Carabiner bottle opener: it doesn't stick way out from your belt like a knife sheath does. The bottle opener is spot-on, works perfectly!
* Ergonomics: fits your hand
* Only the crucial components: Knife, pliers, screwdriver.I rarely need anything else from a multi-tool
* Wire cutters cut well!: SO many tools get this wrong, and I don't know why

Cons:
* Thick for the number of tools: 3-1/2" X 1-3/8" X 3/4" closed, stretches my definition of "pocket" size, you will forgive that when you use the pliers
* Gerber's Gimpy Phillips-head: perpendicular edge does not extend out as much as the other, meaning it is basically a flat-head that comes to a point. Not a deal-breaker but annoying in that you must apply more downward force

Odds 'n Ends:
* Both the screwdrivers have their own locks:Strange, but I can't fault Gerber for making things more safe.
* I took the belt-clip off because I use the carabiner, and when I went to put the clip screws back in, they cross-threaded!
* Pliers not as beefy as Leatherman Skeletool: Let's face it, if you need to turn huge bolts in a mission-critical situation, you probably shouldn't be using a multi-tool!For those incidental occasions when you need to hold a small workpiece or "coax" something open, Gerber has you covered.
* You will need to half-open the pliers handle to use the Phillips-head easily
* Unique styling and choice of colors: Follow me on this one - I know that style is not very important when it comes to tools. But in some settings, reaching for a huge knife with a tool-shed attached just to open a bottle kind of scares some people.I'm just a regular guy who likes to be prepared.

The Crucial Tool features a full-sized knife that opens with a thumb stud--just like a standard pocketknife. The half-serrated/half-fine-edge blade has razor-sharp cutting power and a blunt tip for prying and scraping. For safety, a liner lock keeps the blade securely in place. When the blade is extended, the handles can be folded and secured together to give you an accurate cut.
These butterfly-style handles also provide easy-grip control over the V-cutter, and their longer length provides better torque. The handles fan out for easy access to the rest of the Crucial Tool's components: the medium flat-head screwdriver, cross-head screwdriver, bottle opener, and carabiner clip.
Functions Like a Multi-Tool, Carries Like a Pocketknife
Weighing only five ounces and measuring less than four inches in length when closed, the Crucial Tool is one of the most portable high-performance tools on the market. Its compact design and convenient carrying clip means you'll always have it when you need it, for slicing rope, tightening bolts, opening bottles, and more.
All Components Safely Lock into Place
The Crucial Tool is constructed with stainless steel liner locks that keep the components locked into place while they're in the open position. This safety feature lets you relax and focus on the task at hand without the fear of the components folding up on your fingers while cutting, twisting, prying, etc.
Stainless Steel Design Maintains Durability and Appearance
Constructed with fine stainless steel, the Crucial Tool has an appearance that matches its performance. Its sleek look and contemporary green handles aren't just for show, though. The Crucial Tool's stainless steel composition lends durability, so this tool will stand up to the elements and retain its precision and appearance for years to come.
The Crucial Tool is backed by Gerber's Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Leatherman 830657 Wave Pocket Multi-Tool with Nylon Sheath and 6-Piece Bit Set Review

Leatherman 830657 Wave Pocket Multi-Tool with Nylon Sheath and 6-Piece Bit Set
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ideal combination for everyday use. Has the basic set of tools and bits (hex, flat, phillips and square) in the most common sizes, and every blade locks for use. I've had this for about 4 months now, and I kinda feel naked without it by my side (sucks if you fly a lot). I have not really needed another tool (except a hammer, of course) to do a 'fixit'.
Personally, I like the nylon sheath. It is bulkier than the leather one, but it is more pliable. The bit holder slides in the sheath behind the wave. Careful with the bits though. They are tough and built for use, but standard bits will not work in the holder (the sides have been shaved to make they whole system more compact). Lost bits will cost you a lot of money. You can't buy individual bits, and I don't remember seeing a basic set.
Overall, a very good value for your money.

A simple, folding knife that's quick to deploy, the c33 is an economical choice for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you're tackling a technical ascent on a remote peak or working on a project in the garage, this precision-crafted Crater Series knife is packed with design elements that help you get important jobs done.
The Leatherman c33 Straight Blade Knife offers:

    Tough, US-made 420HC steel
    A folding, drop-style blade
    A slim, 60-percent glass-filled nylon handle
    A liner lock for safety

A new clip lets Crater series knives sit deep in your pocket. View larger.

The c33 is a slim, elegant folding knife. View larger.

The convenient carabiner/bottle opener folds to guard the blade's tip. View larger.Simple, Lightweight, and Reliable
Sometimes, you don't need a toothpick, a pair of tin snips, or toenail scissor--you just need a strong, sharp, reliable cutting blade. The Crater c33 is a streamlined, folding knife with a sturdy, locking blade. Its durable, 60-percent glass-filled nylon handle is shaped and balanced to sit comfortably in your hand. And weighing in at just 2.36 ounces, the c33 will rest snugly in your pocket or pack.
A liner lock lets you secure the blade of your c33 in the open position, so you don't have to worry about it closing on your hand while you cut. This safety feature is especially important when slicing through tough materials like braided nylon rope. Having a liner lock instead of a traditional lockback system makes the c33 easier to open with one hand. It also ensures that it's easy to unlock the blade and close the knife. A conveniently placed thumb stud contributes to the ease of one-handed operation, too.
While the c33 knife doesn't feature the signature Leatherman pliers design, it is available in several multi-tool variations. If you work with rope or clean fish often, you might enjoy the versatility offered by the c33x, which has a combination straight and serrated blade. Similarly, Leatherman offers the c33L for those who love the ease of a having a blade launcher, and the c33T, for those who utilize Phillips and flathead screwdrivers on a daily basis. Leatherman also offers the c33B, a multi-knife with an integrated bit driver.
All Leatherman tools, including the c33 Straight Blade Knife, are backed by a 25-year warranty.

Leatherman 830849 Skeletool CX Stainless Steel Multi-Tool Review

Leatherman 830849 Skeletool CX Stainless Steel Multi-Tool
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
-Backstory-
One of the criterion for a great multitool is versatility, and for the longest time I thought that meant more blades, attachments, and enhancements. While that's partially true, that also means a bigger, heavier footprint. When I finally upgraded to the heavyweight behemoth that is the Leatherman 830160 Surge Pocket Multitool with Leather Sheath and found myself leaving it at home more and more often because of its weight, I realized something was wrong.

The reality is most blades/tool-blades seldom see the light of day outside of camping, and the added weight and size only serve to discourage daily carry.Barring camping or novelty, when was the last time you used your pocket-knife's can-opener? Wood saw? Awl? Corkscrew?? Is there anything you absolutely need scissors for that can't be accomplished with a blade or wire cutter?Do you unconditionally NEED eyeglass-sized screwdrivers on you 24-7?

Most daily applications can be accomplished with a simple blade, a couple drivers, a good set of pliers, and a bottle opener ;). And that's exactly what the Skeletool standard and CX multitools offer.

-Carryability-
What makes the Skeletool CX great isn't the *number* of tools, it's the *versatility* of its few, well thought out tools, allowing for a 5 ounces overall weight, slim form-factor, and not one but two carry clips. The standard side-clip is removable (thought cannot be installed in any other positions on the tool)while the carabiner turns out to be far more useful than I'd imagined -- I find myself hanging it on my belt loop most of the time, keeping my belt free of pouches and my pockets comfortably empty. This negates the need for a holster, though there are versions of the tool which come with one should you desire it.

-The Blade-
Like most modern multitools, the Blade rotates open easily, one-handed, without having to open the tool itself. This is a MUST HAVE feature for an Every Day Carry tool, and feels right at home on the Skeletool. The 2.5 inch blade is a perfectly functional length for everyday use (again, this is an EDC tool, not a survival knife, and anything longer would only make it heavier). The CX model has an upgraded 154CM steel blade and is *reason enough* to choose the CX over the standard model - 154CM is a far better, more modern steel which holds is edge VERY well while providing moderate corrosion resistance and takes nothing more than a good ceramic stone to sharpen.Over the past year I've used it for everything from prying and scraping to box cutting and (in a pinch) cooking, and despite never having sharpened it once the tip is still there (which is saying a lot for my knives) and it's still plenty sharp. The blade's liner lock does a noticeably firm job of holding the blade in place with NO WOBBLE.Quality! When closed, the blade is held in place via a blade-retention bump on the liner lock that mates with one of the skeletonizing holes near the base of the blade. Both Skeletools I've used had a ramp cut into the base of the blade near the joint, automatically depressing the retention-bump and allowing safe closure of the blade. One reviewer has proven that his Skeletool CX does not have this ramp, forcing him to grind off the bump or risk placing him thumb in danger every time he closed the blade. It is yet unclear as to why his knife didn't get the ramp.

-Half Serrated vs. Full Straight Blade-
NOTE: In mid 2009, Leatherman added half-length blade serrations to standard model and REMOVED them from the CX model. Confusingly, the model numbers were not updated to match the new configurations. Some online retailers may still have the 'old version' still in inventory, but as the model numbers are the same, there's no way of knowing what you'll receive. I contacted Leatherman about this and this is the reply I received:

"Thank you for your email and your interest in Leatherman Tools. Originally our Skeletool had a "straight blade",and the Skeletool CX had a "combo blade".The Skeletool CX has a higher grade of steel in its blade and those in the `knife world' came back to us, and stated that we should not use the combo blade with 154cm material. Therefore, in mid year of last year, we made a design change. ... All Current models of the Skeletool CX now have the straight blade. All current models of the Skeletool have the combo blade. ... There are some retailers out there, who have both in inventory. We did not change the item numbers when we made the blade change. Unfortunately, you will have to just check to see who has what in stock."

-Bit Driver-
This is THE tool to replace them all and one of the reasons the Skeletool can do so much while still being so thin and light. You can carry two double-sided bits with you (one in the driver and one in the spare bit slot).I got the Leatherman 934870 40 Bit Assortment with Nylon Sheath bit kit with my Skeletool and found that the two bits I use most are the [#0 & #3] Philips bit, and the [#1-2 & 3/16] Philips & flat-blade combo bit.I can attack any pretty much any screw-head and pry at anything without risking damage to the blade. The rest of the bits are stowed in my backpack.

One word of warning: make sure your spare bit slot is tight before clipping your Skeletool onto your pack while hiking.A friend of mine had his spare bit fall out!Nothing the aforementioned Leatherman 934870 40 Bit Assortment with Nylon Sheath couldn't replace, but you still might want to bend it a little to tighten it up.Mine was fine, so this may not be a problem for you.

-Pliers-
I admit, the jaws are a little thinner than I'd like, but have so far held up to everything I've thrown at it (including an accident with a Dremmel). It also would have been nice if the integrated wire cutters were a little harder as they developed a little "bump" after nibbling through a particularly tough strip of metal. For a while there was noticeable resistance when closing the pliers, but over time it's worn itself back in.My only lasting complaint is that, despite being so thin (3/16ths" at its widest point) the tip is just a tad too blunt to fit in the AR-15's firing-pin retaining-pin recess. It would have been nice if the "needle-nose" was a bit more "needle" ;)

-Bottle Opener-
A definite nice to have.Am I ashamed to admit this alone gets as much use as the rest of the tools combined?Nah ;)

Also, when I contacted Leatherman about the mid 2009 blade change, I was lucky enough to get a full list of all Skeletool models.Maybe it'll help you, maybe not. Here it is anyway:

Skeletool (Standard) - manufactured with a combo blade after mid '09

Leatherman 831201 Squirt ES4 Blue Keychain Tool with Scissor Review

Leatherman 831201 Squirt ES4 Blue Keychain Tool with Scissor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I own numerous Leatherman multitools including the Mini, Pulse, PST, Juice S2, Juice SC2, Wave, Skeletool, Skeletool CX, Micra, Squirt P4, and Squirt S4. I also own numerous Victorinox Swiss Army Knives and multitools. I truly respect and admire the stellar designs utilized by both companies. Having used and owned all these different tools, I feel that the Leatherman Squirt ES4 and PS4 are now unparalleled as the best keychain size multi tools fit for everyday carry (EDC).

PROS
1. Small size, shorter than the Micra, although thicker
2. Lightweight, lighter than the Micra
3. Pliers, which Victorinox does not offer in any of their 58 mm size Swiss Army Knives (SAK)
4. In the ES4 model there are wire strippers (20, 18, 16, 14, 12 gauges)
5. Scissors
6. Flat screwdriver, medium size
7. Flat Philips driver
8. File, with fine and coarse sides
9. Knife, with clip point blade
10. Keyring
11. Bottle opener
12. All tools are accessible with the pliers closed
13. Aesthetically pleasing design with compact body

CONS
4. No small sized flat screwdriver, which was on the Micra
