I have moved back to Leatherman after years with a Gerber. The wire drawer pull on my daughter's dresser came unhooked, so I reached to my belt sheath and produced the Surge.

Touted as Leatherman's largest multi-tool, I figured it would be no match for a drawer pull.Used the pliers to bend the wire handle back to shape and *SNAP*!I was on my hands and knees looking for the one side of the jaw that had sheared off.

In researching this problem, others have said that a twisting motion, while using the pliers, can cause the plier jaws to fail.(I never had that problem with the Gerber, or a Leatherman PST II).

I sent the tool back to Leatherman and it was replaced, back in my hands in about 10 days.

I like the outside access to the knives and scissors, and the driver bit system. Some complain about it using proprietary bits, but I like how the optional bit kit and sheath is flat. The optional bit extender can accept regular hex bits and Leatherman bits.

Just a little concerned about the jaws.
